Apr 5th: Singapore Streetfood

Day 2 (Day 1 in Singapore).

As we headed from the plane to immigration control I realised we hadn’t completed the required entry forms  it us so long since we’ve been on a long flight I was expected paper forms to be handed out on board.

A short panic ensued as we tried to get a WiFi connection and do the necessary online. Luckily, our pre-booked taxi driver was still waiting. On the journey to the hotel she gave us tips on how best to spend our two days here.

After checking in to our hotel in Clarke Quay we showered and changed into more appropriate clothes before heading out to explore. We were tired and our body clocks out of kilter but our ‘stomach clocks’ more so. We had to eat!

A good time to investigate Chinatown, a short walk from our base, with its myriad of places to eat the famous streetfood. They all looked delicious. Unfortunately we broke our golden rule of eating where it is busy. What we ate was very poor.

NB: we didn’t choose this!

Heading back to Clarke Quay we looked around all the bars and restaurants and found a waterside kiosk where we had a Tiger beer and prosecco. On the other side of the water was a bungy jump style catapult ride which could be enjoyed for silly money.

Tiredness soon set in and we headed back to sleep in an actual bed
